Julie Leonard Psychology Graduate BA (Hons) Psychology, Certified Integrative Coach / Psychologische Beraterin, Certified EFT Practitioner.

In October 2024, we are happy to welcome Julie into our team of colleagues, sharing offices in Sonnenstraße. Like Richard and Irena, she works independently of the other therapists, cousellors and coaches (with separate liability) and has her own separate business within the rooms we all share.

Julie is a  psychology graduate who has been working to support people around themes of mental health and well-being since the mid-1990’s. 

For legal purposes here in Germany, Julie is currently qualified as a „Beraterin“ / coach, which means she is able to offer advice and support in navigating emotional and life challenges, but she is unable to make formal diagnoses or offer medical or psychotherapeutic support.



Julie’s words on herself

Supporting people has been my life’s passion. Looking back, I realise I was attracted to psychology because of difficulties in my family background with anxiety and depression, which forced me to work through challenges of nervousness and self-esteem in my own life. Through my 30+ years of experience, encompassing my psychology background, 20 years working in mental health services, hundreds of hours of Coaching, and personal experience, I have gained empathy, compassion, and understanding of people’s struggles. I’m passionate about sharing my skills, knowledge, and tools with you and supporting you to encourage positive changes in yourself and your life.

Originally from Scotland I’ve been living in Munich since 2014 and have a husband and son. As a wife, mother, colleague, and expat, I know what it’s like to manage work-life balance and how challenging that can be, especially living in a different country. Outside of work, I prioritise friendships and family and enjoy travel, being by the sea, theatre and live music. I volunteer with Diakonia and The Munich English Book Sale. And I’m trying to improve my Italian.

1994-2014 Various positions in non-profit mental health organisations in Scotland, working with the full range of mental health conditions specialising in anxiety, depression and trauma
2014 Coaching Certificate, NLP Centre for Excellence, Accredited to the IANLPC
2014 to now Life Coach – Individual coaching (1500+ hours) on a diverse range of topics. Group coaching (500+ hours). Facilitate 3 group programmes – Self-Compassion (1 month), Simplify Your Life (6 m) and Intentional Happiness. (12 m) Workshop facilitation-incl. Loving Kindness, mindfulness, MBSR,
Corporate.- stress management, relaxation breaks, company talks.
2014 to now Happiness Club- Group Coaching. I have been facilitating a free weekly Happiness Club for 10 years now—over 900 sessions to date, conducted on Zoom with women worldwide.
2020-now 21 Day Self Compassion Journey- Group Coaching. Ongoing Group Coaching course teaching a self-compassion meditation that supports an effective shift in negative thinking.
2023 EFT Practitioner Level 1&2, The EFT Centre, London. Accredited to EFTi.
2024- now Self Compassion Meditation Group. 15 minute daily meditation group running 5 days per week.
2024 Diploma in Integrative Coaching with Become Coaching, UK accredited to The ICF.

How we work together

We work in partnership to explore what you bring to our sessions. You are in control of what we discuss as you are the expert of your own life and I bring my extensive experience and training to our sessions. Here are some of the ways our sessions can support you:

  • A confidential place and some dedicated time to work on yourself.
  • Working with a trained professional who is able to support change more quickly when we collaborate
  • Working with you to gain clarity on what you really want in life
  • Helping you discover how to get unstuck and move forward with the life you would like
  • Identifying limiting beliefs, the ones that are holding you back in your life and working to alter and move beyond them
  • Changing your negative thinking so that you think, feel and are more confident

  • Setting goals and keeping you accountable to encourage the change your want to happen

Your investment

My fee is 150€ incl. of VAT per session. This fee includes:

  • A initial 15 minute Discovery Call (with no obligation to commit)
  • 50 minute sessions
  • Individual sessions available face-to-face and online
  • Email and telephone support between sessions as agreed together
  • Preparation of tailored resources for our sessions
